Mariah's Triumphant Return To Australia

Over the Summer I was lucky enough to tag along on Mariah's Australian tour. It was a wild ride with a couple of tense moments but it was a brilliant experience that I will always cherish. All of the shows were good but the Sydney concert was absolutely immaculate. Mimi received unfair criticism for what was perceived to be an overly short set but when you have 917 hits you have to be judicious about what you sing and I think she got the mix right. The diva enjoyed herself so much that she's desperate to return and could be heading back this way as soon as September to tour her new album. I'll be there.

Britney To Tour Australia In July 2013

Britney is in negotiations to mime a one-off show in Australia next year. The extravaganza would take place in July and be part of a series of concerts from high-profile international guests. Also on the promoter's wishlist is Christina Aguilera! "Your Body" live? I would die.

Nicki Minaj Is Officially A Flop - Tickets Heavily Reduced For Sydney Show

Now this is embarrassing. It looks like Nicki Minaj has traveled all the way to Australia to be greeted by a half-empty crowd at Sydney's Entertainment Centre on Friday night. While fellow American Idol judge Mariah Carey sold out the much-larger All Phones arena in just 4 minutes last week, Onika's flop concert has been on sale for months with next-to-no interest. In a desperate bid to save face, promoters are now offering tix for $60 - a huge discount. Shame. To be honest, I still think that's too much money to spend on Nicki's basic show. Earlier this year I reviewed her gig at the Hordern Pavillion for Idolator and was less than impressed. But if terrible miming, bad wigs and tacky sets float your boat, you're in for the night of your life.

Mariah Carey To Slay Australia In 2013

After spending the last few days locked in my room playing "Can't Take That Away (Mariah's Theme)" on repeat, I'm finally able to compute with the life-changing news that Mimi is coming back to Australia for the first time in 15 years. What's more - she'll be here in less than two months!

Yes, Lambs - Mimi is spending NYE in Australia with Nick and dem babies before performing two exclusive shows. The record-breaking diva will do an intimate gig on the Gold Coast and a full-blown stadium concert in Sydney. I believe the dates are Jan 1 for Gold Coast and Jan 3 for Sydney. From what I hear she's going all out, so this will be the hottest ticket in town. We'll know more details in the morning when the tour is officially announced.

Now excuse me while I go listen to Rainbow and cry. A last word of advice - keep your eyes peeled for pre-sale ticket links. This is going to sell out FAST! If you're a total failure and need any convincing that this will be the most triumphant tour of 2013, watch Mariah destroy your faves live (below). Good night.

Luciana's (Latest) Australian Club Tour

The last time I wrote about the Queen of clubs, she had just dropped a video for her Bodyrox collaboration "Bow Wow Wow". Since then the busiest woman in pop somehow found the time to record "We Own The Night" (check out the video below) with Tiësto and Wolfgang Gartner and line up the follow-up single to her Gold-selling Australian smash "I'm Still Hot". It's called "When It Feels This Good" and will be released on Vicious Records very soon. Exciting, right? Brace yourself because it gets better. Luci is coming back for another tour of Aussie nightclubs in June. It feels like five minutes since her last visit but I guess that was November! Here are the dates:

June 1 - Adelaide (Red Square)
June 2 - Sydney (Ivy)
June 9 - Darwin (Mindil beach)
June 10 - Brisbane (Brisbane)
June 16 - Melbourne (Crown)

I can't wait. I love hanging out with Luciana and the dance icon always puts on a great show. It will be very interesting to see if "When It Feels This Good" takes off. It's a killer club anthem, so I'm hoping for another "I Like That"-sized smash. Fingers crossed radio plays along. They came around to "I'm Still Hot", so there's no reason they shouldn't. Prepare to be rocked!

Vengaboys Release Australian Tour CD

Quick, somebody call Uncle John from Jamaica and let him know that the most essential pop album of 2011 hits stores Decemember. Yes, people. The Vengabus is heading for Australia this Summer and Central Station is releasing a long-overdue greatest hits package to celebrate. All your favourites are present and accounted for including the seminal "We Like To Party (The Vengabus)" and the most played song on Dannii's iPod ("We're Going To Ibiza"). The ultimate stocking filler is less than a fortnight away. Talk about the gift that keeps on giving!
